Business Analyst
Summary:

The Business Analyst will be a self-directed, highly analytical, and technical resource to help the business create and manage its processes and data. This individual will be an instrumental part of the team that will be implementing new processes, software solutions, data definitions, a data warehouse, KPIs and management reports.

Activities will include analysis as requested by the management team, scoping of projects, implementing solutions and working with the internal team to prioritize deliverables and negotiate product functionality. The BA must understand the System Development Lifecyle (SDLC) for both waterfall and agile projects. The BA is very analytical with problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluates business processes, uncovering areas for improvement, developing and implementing solutions
  • Performs requirements analysis
  • Effectively communicates insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management
  • Works closely with clients, technicians and managerial staff
  • Prioritizes initiatives based on business needs and requirements
  • Serves as a liaison between stakeholders and users
  • Projects estimation and negotiation of product functionalities
  • Creates detailed Business Requirement Document (BRD) and translate it into functional specifications.
  • Provides analytic support by coordinating data extraction from various databases and data interpretation
  • Partners with development and analytic teams to provide reporting on software solutions
  • Participates in Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Functionality Testing
  • Understands and has experience with BABOK standards
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or IT
  • 5+ years of experience working as a Functional, Data or Business Analyst
  • 3+ years of experience in Access, Excel(Advanced), visualization tools (Chartio, SSRS, Tableau or similar)
  • 3+ years SQL Server 2008+ knowledge – T-SQL, Tables, Views
  • 3+ years of customer interfacing experience – project oversight, customer presentation
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Additional Preferred Experience:
  • BABOK Certification
  • SSRS
  • 3+ years of experience in Access, Excel(Advanced), visualization tools (Chartio, SSRS, Tableau or similar)
  • Amazon Web Services – S3, Redshift, Kinesis
  • Hadoop and Hive
  • Spark
