We are extremely disappointed to announce that we have no choice but to postpone the Tony Robbins’ Unleash the Power Within (UPW) event planned for Thursday, March 12 through Sunday, March 15, 2020 in San Jose, California.
The governor of the state of California has recently declared a state of emergency and unfortunately, San Jose is now being called a hot zone region. Facebook and Alphabet Inc.’s Google have also canceled upcoming multi-day conferences based on health officials’ most recent recommendations.
Our team, along with the venue’s management, has done everything possible up until the last minute, to safely hold the event as planned. However, daily changing conditions, public health & government guidance, international travel restrictions, and escalating distress in Santa Clara County brought on by the unfolding global coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns have forced this decision.
As always, we will do everything within our control to take care of and safeguard our participants’ well-being. We had followed all suggested health and safety protocols and guidelines and will be utilizing them at future events no matter where they may be.
We know that 12,000 people were still committed to attending this event and we are very conscious of the massive inconvenience that this causes. We encourage you to reach out to your airline and hotel accommodations, many of whom have amended their policies in light of the coronavirus issue. The last thing we would ever want to do is disappoint our audience or fail to meet its needs. In fact, this is the first time in over 40 years that forces outside our control have caused us to postpone an Unleash the Power Within event.
We know how many of you were looking forward to this experience, and as always, we remain ready to serve and deliver. The good news is we are already working to reschedule this event in the near future for the thousands who planned to attend.
We will be in communication with the details of your options for all of our registered UPW San Jose participants in the next 72 hours. We appreciate your graciousness, understanding, and flexibility as we all deal with these unique circumstances together.
FAQs
1. Why was UPW San Jose postponed?
Our team wanted to do everything we could to still serve you and help you reach your personal breakthrough at UPW. We were 100% prepared to safely put on this event, taking the proper precautions suggested by the CDC to do so. However, the governor of the state of California then declared a state of emergency, stating that San Jose was a hot zone region for COVID-19 (coronavirus). We have been and will continue to monitor the situation and follow changing daily local conditions, public health and government guidance, international travel restrictions, and escalating distress in the immediate area. The combination of all of these factors led us to ultimately, and reluctantly, make the decision to postpone the event. The last thing we would ever want to do is disappoint you or fail to meet your needs.
