Fewer words have the power to provoke such extreme human emotions as “money.”

The word “money” has the power to elicit extreme emotions. It is intensely personal and highly charged. It can make people feel guilty when they have it—or ashamed when they don’t. Like religion, sex, or politics, the topic is taboo in polite conversation and perhaps you’re even becoming a little uncomfortable just thinking about your finances right now. That’s a very positive outcome, because a little discomfort can go a long way toward getting you from where you are now to where you ultimately want to be in life.

This is simply because in our society, money equals power. But on some fundamental level, we understand that money is truly an illusion. It’s a means to an end, rather than the end goal itself — it’s the thing that gets us to the thing. And what the “thing” is may be different for all of us.

Financial freedom means life on your terms.

In the end, what we’re really after is the feelings and the emotions we believe money can create. Freedom. Security. Ability — to help those we love and care about, those in need and even those whose ideas we want to empower to help change the world! Money is certainly one of the ways we can turn the dreams we have into the reality we live.

And one thing is for sure: you either use money or it uses you. You either master money, or, on some level, money masters you! How you deal with money reflects how you deal with power.
