Why one CEO has brought 200+ team members to Unleash the Power Within—and what it means for your team
He was 22 the first time he walked into Unleash the Power Within.
By then, Andrew Sossin had already heard Tony say your peer group can bring you down, you can bring them up, or you can find a new one.
Instead of finding a new one, he brought his existing peer group somewhere the standard was higher than anything they'd experienced and let that raise all of them at once.
“If we surround ourselves with people who are successful, who are forward-moving, who are positive, who are focused on producing results, who support us, who never let you settle for less than you can be, it will challenge us to be more and do more.” – Tony Robbins
That same instinct showed up in a much harder fight closer to home.
Andrew met his wife in middle school. Years later, after they married, he watched several people in their family cycle in and out of treatment centers, fighting addiction and mental health battles that nothing seemed to fix. Some ended up overdosing.
He kept thinking there had to be a better way to help them.
A Treatment Model Built on Music
That thought became Recovery Unplugged, a treatment company centered around an unconventional idea: music as a catalyst for evidence-based therapy.
Clients have access to psychiatrists, psychologists, cognitive behavioral therapy, and traditional clinical tools—plus music as the thing that breaks down a person's defenses long enough for the real work to start.
A 20-year-old who likes hip hop and a 65-year-old who likes country can sit in the same room and find something that unites them.

Who are the people you spend the most time with? Take a hard look. Are they pushing you forward? Are they raising your standards? Are they doing things you aspire to do? If the answer is no, that's not a small thing. It's everything. Proximity is power. And most people give that power away without even knowing it. […]
Let me take you back to a moment that changed everything — the birth of the firewalk at Unleash the Power Within. This isn’t just a story about walking barefoot across burning embers. It’s a story about breaking through fear, rewriting what’s possible, and igniting a fire inside that can never be extinguished…[…]
Leadership is an inside-out job. If you want to build a successful company, it starts with becoming a successful leader. And becoming a successful leader starts with building a foundation of health.
Let me share with you some of my favorite transformation stories from the firewalk over the years — moments that still light me up because they reveal the raw, unstoppable power of human courage and breakthrough. These aren’t just tales of walking on embers; they’re stories of people stepping into their greatness, shedding old fears, and rewriting their lives forever. […]
The leaders who scale fastest aren't more driven or intelligent; they're more structured. They design their days, priorities, and decision-making so progress happens even when confidence wavers or pressure rises.
The Peer Group Decision
Andrew got his first set of Personal Power tapes at 16. What Tony taught him shaped the decision he'd make at 22: proximity to the right people changes what you believe is possible.
That year, he offered every friend and family member he had a seat at Unleash the Power Within. By the 2004 event in Miami, he'd personally brought more than fifty people to attend with him.
The logic was simple: if everyone around him experienced what he was learning about mindset and focus, it would benefit all of them.
"People’s lives are a direct reflection of the expectations of their peer group." —Tony Robbins
A Standard Kept for More Than Two Decades
Since 2001, Andrew has attended Unleash the Power Within 23 times. He has crossed the firewalk 19 times. He has brought over 200 of his own Recovery Unplugged team members through the doors, and more than a 1,000 people in total—team members, family, friends, and anyone he believed could get something at Unleash they couldn't get anywhere else.
It's one thing to say those words. It's another to live them for more than two decades. As he built a company from the ground up, Andrew continued to make the investment—despite every reason to sit a year out.
What’s the unique ability that sets you apart as a leader?
Most professional development has a linear return. You teach a skill, someone applies it, and the curve flattens.
Recovery Unplugged took shape through a team that went through Unleash the Power Within together, year after year, and they used their new shared language to help people in crisis believe that change was possible for them too.
The standard a team sets together doesn't slip the way one person's resolve slips alone. The next year builds on the last one instead of starting over. Every year stacks.
Andrew isn't still doing this again this year because it felt good back in 2004. He's doing it because what started with fifty people at a single Miami event became 200 team members, 1,000 individuals, and a company shaped by the same principles Tony has been teaching for decades—a track record built one year at a time.
The Real Gap
Most teams aren't short on talent.
Walk into almost any company, and you'll find people who know exactly what good execution looks like. They can describe it in a meeting, map it on a whiteboard, and explain precisely where things are breaking down.
“Hunger is the only differentiation in people; it’s not talent.” —Tony Robbins
Most teams already have knowledge. What's missing is execution.
Andrew's team has one, and at Unleash the Power Within, 200 of them decided together what they were no longer willing to accept from themselves or each other.
“If you don’t set a baseline standard for what you’ll accept in life, you’ll find it easy to slip into behaviors and attitudes or a quality of life that’s far below what you deserve.” —Tony Robbins
Discover your natural approach to leadership so you can flex it to serve your team
Deciding to change is the easy part. What holds it is an environment that reinforces it.
The people around a team, the state they're operating from, the assumptions that have run in the background so long they feel like facts—all of it shapes what a team reaches for and whether they keep going when it gets hard.
“Your life changes the moment you make a new, congruent and committed decision.” —Tony Robbins
Teams transform when they're immersed in an environment that raises their standards, expands their vision, and challenges them to become more than they thought possible.
Four days together at Unleash the Power Within is that environment: your team sees what drives their decisions, they break patterns that keep repeating even when everyone "knows better," and they walk on fire together.
Picture your team after four days with Tony Robbins.
Your people won't come back with notes from a conference.
They'll come back with a new standard that holds even after they're back at their desks.
